Joop Kruip

Using my hands and head

  • Book Design

In Joop Kruip’s studio, much has stayed the same. Above all, the tranquility has been preserved, maintaining the atmosphere of the workplace. The metaphorical spirit of the artist still resides there. More importantly, his soul.

Joop Kruip was active as an artist for over sixty years. His extensive body of work includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, and a large number of monumental works integrated into the architecture of post-war reconstruction. Despite thousands of drawings and paintings and the nationwide presence of his monumental work, he remains relatively unknown in post-war Dutch art history.

Seven bound books showcase the scope of his work, tell stories about his personal life, and provide a glimpse into the art world of post-war Netherlands.
